A Jim Boland Masterpiece-the FK Gun-A converted 1911 to High cap 9

  1. Jim Boland was something else. I have an old Guns & Ammo issue where he had developed a gas-operated, 16" barrel, longslide M1911A1.

Has anyone seen one of Mitchell "Alpha" hi-capacity, double-action M1911 frames that Boland designed? The weird thing was that the frame would accept standard M1911 magazines as well. As a result, the Alpha's hi-cap magazine was shaped like the P7M13 magazine used in the FK pistol.

  2. I would love to find the prototypes of that gun. IIRC it was double action with a modular hammer assembly
